Alec Firth is having an affair with his assistant, Liz, and has arranged for them to holiday in Spain without his wife Maggie knowing. What could possibly go wrong? Showing up to thwart his plans include his mother Phoebe, on the run from the old folks’ home, his son Jamie, on crutches and the dole, and his daughter Mandy, surprisingly pregnant and single.
