Kayt Roth – Biography

‘Maid’ (Netflix)

Kayt Roth has been acting, directing, and writing for over 30 years. A transplanted Alberta girl now based in Vancouver, as an actor, she has appeared in worldwide hits such as Maid and The Twilight Zone, along with Vancouver mainstays such as Untold Stories of the E.R. On stage, her credits include classics like The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Nunsense, and Evita.

With more than 25 productions under her belt as a director, Kayt has tackled some of the most complex stage shows, including Noises Off and The Sound of Music, along with a number of others: Rumors, Moon Over Buffalo, A Comedy of Tenors, and the award-winning Perfect Arrangement, to name a few. Her approach to directing is to create a collaborative environment which gets actors on their feet and off book as soon as possible, while allowing each department to freely bring their ideas to the overall vision.

Finally, Kayt is a writer who has published a novel (Letters to Helen), and written and directed the musical revue A Drift in L.A.
