George and Charlotte Hay are theatre veterans who appeared on the cover of Life Magazine in the 1940s. But they’ve fallen on hard times, and are now fighting to stay relevant in repertory after losing out on Frank Capra’s latest movie. Faced with backstage drama within the company and relationships that are falling apart, a crisis forms when George misses the call from his agent to let him know that Frank Capra is recasting his film and is coming to watch their afternoon show. Will they do Cyrano de Bergerac or Private Lives? Will the show even go on?
